Tips for Parents What Can You Do to Prevent Cyberbullying?
· Keep home computers in a family room so usage can be monitored. Computer in living area or parent’s bedroom. · Talk to your children about what they are doing online. (shot- parent sitting with kid who is pointing to screen) · Talk to your children about what cyberbullying is and that is can occur on a computer or on a phone. (shot of computer then phone) · Encourage your child to talk to you if they are being bullied or if that know of someone else who is being bullied. Explain that they won’t get their electronic equipment taken away from them if they share this information with you. (Adult speaking to camera – one of us?) · Be clear that cyberbullying is wrong!
